Temporary Memberships

Responding to the long standing request of many Chennai-based alumni from both the IITs and the IIMs, the general body of the club approved the category of Associate Members at the EGM held in March 2011. And this category is open not just for IIT Alumni, but those from the IIMs as well!

Membership will be temporary, for one year at a time. Here are the terms for membership:

Associate Members must be alumni from any of the IITs, or any of the IIMs

They will have no voting rights whatsoever

They must be residents of Chennai

Their membership application must be proposed and seconded by any two regular club members (not other Associate Members)

Membership Fee for IIT alumni will be Rs.15,000 plus 10.3% service tax

Membership Fee for IIM alumni will be Rs.20,000 plus 10.3% service tax

Membership valid for only one year.

Renewal at the end of the year will be at the sole discretion of the Management Committee, and will be at prevailing terms.

All Associate Members will, in addition, pay an Annual Subscription Fee of Rs.3600 plus 10.3% service tax

Minimum Billing requirement will be Rs.2100 per quarter net of service tax. Any shortfall will be billed at the end of each quarter, and will be liable to a 10.3% service tax.
