A limited number of Resident Memberships are now available, and the membership fee is Rs.100,000 plus 10.3% Service Tax.

All members will be required to pay a non-refundable Initial admission fee which sum may be decided by the Managing Committee and make a formal application for admission, agreeing to abide by the rules and code of conduct for members of the Club, in force from time to time.

• Column 9: Free Room-nights: Eligibility for enjoying rooms without paying room charges for specified number of people (including guests) for specified number of years
• Column 11: Patron and Principal Membership can be transferred to next of kin (need not be an alumni of IIT) once. Bequeathed Member will be an Associate Member without voting rights if a non-alumni or Resident Member if Alumni. Bequeathed memberships will not be further transferable.
• Column 10: Name will be displayed, with gratitude, at a prominent location on the club premises
• Column 10: Refund of Initial Fees: Refund for Initial fees paid by Faculty Members: For all Faculty members their special membership will terminate at the time of their leaving IIT employment unless they retire in normal course of time. At the time of leaving IIT employment they have the following options:
  • Get part Refund of the initial fee (after initial lock-in period of 3 years of becoming Club member) pro rata for the balance period till 10 years, i.e., diminishing to zero at the end of 10 years
  • For Faculty who are IIT Alumni: they have a choice of converting their membership to regular membership. For this they will pay the differential between the regular initial fee (ex. Rs.1 Lac) and the concessional initial fee applicable for Faculty (ex. Rs.15,000) as prevailing at the time of 'their first becoming a member of the Club
• Faculty members, who are not alumni, will be termed as Associate Members and they shall have the same rights as an alumnus faculty member
• Subscription: The Subscription payable per member is presently Rs.3,600 (@ Rs.300 per month) payable in advance at the beginning of each year. This is applicable for all classes of members unless specifically stated otherwise herein. Subscription, if applicable will be collected from the date of membership or the date notified by the Managing Committee, in this regard.
• Charges: In addition to Subscription, Charges for usage of Club Premises and Facilities including (but not limited to) consumption of food and beverages, usage of facilities etc. is payable by all members without exception. Minimum billing is presently Rs.700 per month or Rs.2,100 per quarter (for faculty members there is a concessional rate of Rs.350 per month or Rs.1,050 per quarter). This will be settled at the end of each quarter, depending on your actual usage. For members who are ordinarily Non-Resident in Chennai, 50% subscription only is payable if continuous "absence" status (backed up by self declaration) of 12 months is communicated officially beforehand; They shall have not more than 5 days usage of the Club during the year.
• Advance for Expenses: A replenishable non-interest bearing advance of US $300 to be used for charges for postage and payment of bills is payable in advance by NRI members, unless they arrange for an Indian address for all communications for these purposes
• The Subscription and Charges are applicable to all classes of members, unless specifically stated otherwise hereinabove
• Service/ Sales Tax and other Statutory Taxes and Levies, as applicable, from time to time will be payable, in addition to the foregoing
