The IIT Alumni Club has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the IIT Madras Research Park, which has come up adjacent to the IITM Campus, accesible from the IT Highway next to Tidel Park.

The MOU was formally signed and exchanged by Dr. Sandhya Shekhar, CEO of IITMRP and key members of the Club Management Commitee, in the presence of Dr. MS Ananth, Director IITM and Patron of the Club, and Dr. Ashok Jhunjunwala, Professor-in-charge of the IITMRP, on Dec 21, 2010.

Under the terms of the MOU, IITMRP and IIT Alumni Club Chennai will collaborate closely in areas including selective usage of facilities at IITMRP by IIT Alumni Club members, on terms to be worked out. These could include:

• Conference rooms and auditorium facilities
• Boarding and Lodging for members based on facilities provided by vendors to IITMRP like Ginger Hotels and the food court
• Use of future facilities to be created, like the Alumni Lounge and a Fine Dining area

Additionally, IIT Alumni Club could offer to IITMRP usage of select facilities in IITACC on terms to be mutually agreed upon. Such facilities could include:

• Publicity to the IITMRP brand at the IITACC premises at select locations
• Publicity to the IITMRP brand in select IITACC publications and forums
• Opportunities for IITMRP to meet select IITACC members and interact with them, to further the aims of IITMRP
